Commercial pricing is based on volume, frequency, and route — not a flat rate. Most restaurants sign up for weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly visits at rates significantly below our residential pricing.
Pricing FAQs
Why is there a $80 minimum for home service?
The minimum covers the cost of driving to you, setting up on-site, and running the equipment. If you only have 2-3 knives, you're welcome to book — but we'd suggest gathering neighbors' or family members' knives to hit the minimum and get more value from the visit.
Do scissors, cleavers, and Japanese knives cost more?
No. All knife types are the same price per the tiers above. Kitchen knife, pocket knife, scissors, serrated bread knife, single-bevel yanagiba — they all count as one knife and are priced identically.
When do I pay?
Payment is due at the time of service, after the work is complete. We accept cash, debit/credit cards, Venmo, and Zelle. No charge until your knives are sharp.
What's included in the commercial / restaurant rate?
Commercial pricing is custom per account — based on how many knives per visit, how often (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly), and your location. Call (310) 420-1147 and we'll walk through your setup and give you a per-visit number.
How do I know if I'm in a travel fee zone?
When you submit your booking request with your full address, we'll confirm your zone and any applicable travel fee before we schedule. There are no surprise charges at the appointment. Or call us first at (310) 420-1147 for an instant answer.
Can I split a visit across multiple households?
Yes — common practice is to team up with neighbors or family to hit the minimum (and the better per-knife rates). Just make sure everyone's knives are at one address when we arrive.
What about rush / same-day pricing?
Same-day service is available for a flat $40 upcharge, subject to route availability. Call before noon for the best chance. Standard appointments are usually within 24 hours of booking anyway.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes — call (310) 420-1147 or email us. Gift certificates work great for home chefs, new homeowners, and wedding gifts. We can do digital or printed certificates.
